Wet felted accessories are also fun smaller projects like; headbands, scarves, jewelry, wrist warmers, purses, handbags, and coin purses. The list doesn't stop at just clothing, though. Bowls, vessels, cat caves, wall hangings, and table runners are all possible through wet felting. The possibilities are as infinite as your imagination.

What Kind of Soap Can I Use For Wet Felting?

A plant-based soap will work well for wet felting. Olive oil soap is a great example and our favorite soap to use when wet felting.

In wet felting, you are trying to remove all air pockets from your piece so the wool fibers can truly bind together and felt. Sudsing soap like dishwashing soap and dish detergent creates air bubbles when agitated.

Plant-based soaps do not produce large bubbles when they are agitated. Creating extra air in your project will take it longer to felt, or it may not felt at all.

What To Use For a Wet Felting Resist?

Resist material is used in wet felting for projects intended to be hollow inside, such as bowls, vessels, hats, wrist warmers, dresses, etc.
