Wednesday June 5th: CONTROLLING SHRINKAGE W/FIBER LAYOUT with Charity Vd Meer

Charity travels all around the world teaching felt fashion and felt techniques. We are all wowed by her runway felted dresses, coats, skirts and accessories.
Learn Charity's method for controlling shrinkage and shape in her fabulous felted wearables.
This hands on lesson will be a great jump start to doing any of Charity's courses online or in person.
You will leave with experience that you can apply immediately and a sample you can reference.

*Some wet felting experience required, felting over a resist experience helpful, laying out fine fibers helpful.
If you have not done this yet, try one of our free online tutorials so you have success in this class.

WHAT TO EXPECT: 90min hands-on workshop.Supply kit and wet felting tools provided. Participants bring 2 small towels.
Group 1 starts @ 8:30am, Group 2 starts @ 10am

Wednesday June 5th: GET YOUR FELT ON DINNER MIXER

Join the instructors, fairies and your fellow makers for dinner and mingling. Wear a little felted something: accessory or adornment as a conversation piece (it will be hot) Dinner is at Flores restaurant next door = Fajita and Enchilada buffet + non-alcoholic drink included with your dinner ticket. See passes below.
*if you need a vegetarian meal, let us know and they will accommodate

Thursday June 6th: TIPS & TECHNIQUES FOR WET FELTING OVER A BALL with Natasha Smart

Natasha has captivated us all with her fantastic reels for wet felting and especially for her projects wet felted over our felting balls: Big Bertha and Little B.
Over the years and many projects, she has developed and refined her own methods for wet felting over a ball. She shares these in her courses both in person and online, in her book: Wet Felting: Creating Texture, Pattern and Structure and she will share even more in her new book coming out this summer: Three Dimensional Felting WET FELTING, Felting on a Ball

In this session, Natasha will draw from questions and challenges of past students to share her top tips and guides to troubleshooting making wet felted items over a ball. Work in small groups to wet felt over a ball together and apply Natasha's tips and guidance so you can get going on your own project.

WHAT TO EXPECT: 90min hands-on workshop, felt standing up.Supply kit and wet felting tools provided. Participants bring 2 small towels.
Must be comfortable working in small groups of 3-4. You will receive with your own Little B' ball that you can use at home.
Group 1 starts @ 8:30am, Group 2 starts @ 10am

Friday June 7th: DRUM CARD ART BATTS with Joyce Hazlerig and Marie Spaulding

Joyce and Marie are teaming up to bring you a hands on session for drum carding fun
Work in small groups to try out motorized and manual drum carders to create art batts from prepared fibers.
You will leave with an art batt that you can wet felt, needle felt or even spin into a fun art yarn.

WHAT TO EXPECT: 90min hands-on workshop, work standing up. Supplies included.
Must be comfortable working in small groups of 3-4. You will be able to take home an art batt or two from this session.
Group 1 starts @ 8:30am, Group 2 starts @ 10am
