Needle Felt

So what is Needle Felting? Needle felting is a process of creating hand made felt with the use of a felting needle and wool fibers. Felting needles have small notches along the shaft, and so do wool fibers! When we poke the felting needle into the wool fibers, it causes the fiber to entangle and "felt". This is the process of needle felting. 

Needle felting is a process that can be used to create 2D images like patches, ornaments, pictures, and surface design on felt, fabric, denim, linen, etc. and needle felting can also be used to create 3D sculptures to needle felt animals, dolls, ornaments and all types of sculptures.

It doesn't stop there! You can even use needle felting to start making a needle felt hat or purse, but we do suggest "finishing" items that will get a lot of wear-n-tear with a wet felting process.

Needle felting is very easy to learn and beginners will find lots of projects that will help them start to learn how to needle felt right here at Living Felt! We suggest finding an inspiring beginner project, gather your supplies, and just start! Needle felting is very forgiving and we love that needle felting not an expensive hobby to start.
